Here's how it went:
"Gwen, do you want to sleep in the crib tonight, or your big girl bed?"
"Big girl beddd!!!!!"
::read a few books, rock rock rock, hugs & kisses::
::place in big girl bed::
"Sweet dreams"
"Seet-deems"
And then she fell asleep....for 15 hours.
Same thing with the nap the next day, and I woke her up after 3 hours like I normally do.
To be fair, I think the 15hr thing was a fluke because she's probably still adjusting after our trip to Vegas. But last night she slept her usual 12 and now I'm about to go upstairs and wake her up because she's going over her 3hr nap limit.
Now, if only taking away the "pah-pah" will be this easy. Those are the 2 things we wanted to accomplish with Gwen before the boy arrives. Something tells me we're in for it with the whole pacifier thing...I'm pretty sure that's how she soothes herself to sleep. On second thought, there's nothing wrong with a pacifier-sucking teenager...right?
Do you know that I actually had a girl in my HS class who walked around sucking on a pacifier because she thought it was cool? I guess that's motivation enough to rid Gwen of this habit, like now.
We put the bed on the floor because we haven't bought a frame yet, and this way we don't have to worry about her rolling out.
Can you find Gwen? All of her stuffed animals live in the built in and she likes to visit them every so often. |
